CGRC wishes to inform all customers in Cootamundra that the Betts Street Sewage Pumping Station (SPS) Rising Main Replacement project will commence in coming weeks. The proposed alignment travels through O’Connor Park, Strikers Lane, Gundagai Road. CGRC has engaged a contractor to undertake the project.
As part of essential infrastructure works, Trazlbat Pty Ltd has been engaged by Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council to carry out construction works on Cowcumbla Street.
To ensure these works can be undertaken safely and efficiently, Cowcumbla Street will be closed to through traffic from 7 October 2025 to 30 October 2025, weather and site conditions permitting.
Traffic Management and Detour
A detour will be in place during this period to maintain safe traffic flow around the work zone. Local access for residents and businesses will be maintained under the guidance of traffic controllers; however driveway access may be temporarily restricted at times, with affected residents notified directly in advance. The approved Traffic Guidance Scheme (detour plan) is attached, and a simplified map has also been included below for convenience.

Time of Work
Our work is planned to commence on Mid-End September 2025 and, weather and ground conditions permitting, take upto 26 weeks to complete.
Day Works
Our daytime work hours are 7 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. We won’t work on Weekends or on Public Holidays.
Maintaining driveway access
Access in and out of some driveways on Strikers Lane, Gundagai Road, and O’Connor Park may be limited at times. Our friendly construction crews will doorknock/consult if you are impacted and help you in and out of your driveway if needed.
