COMMITTED TO ANIMAL RESCUE

There is always room for a good news story in relation to stray animals. Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC) works closely with many animal rescue groups to ensure abandoned and stray dogs and cats in the care of Council have a chance to find safe and loving homes.

Favio a stray cat, approximately three-years-old is one such story that has a happy ending. Favio was found, in the CGRC LGA. Sadly no one came forward to claim the cat nor was he microchipped. The amazing team at Dunroamin Rescue Group stepped in and took charge, after completing the necessary veterinary checks Favio was placed with a loving family in Victoria.

Animal rescue groups play a crucial role by providing a safe haven for abandoned, abused and stray animals. They arrange adoptions, rehabilitation and veterinary services. Many are not for profit organisations and are funded through community donations.

CGRC reminds companion animal owners to register and microchip your pets, this will ensure a safe return should they become lost.
