MUTTAMA CREEK DRAFT MASTERPLAN ON DISPLAY NOW

Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council and Martens & Associates have developed the Draft Masterplan for Muttama Creek in Cootamundra.

The Draft Masterplan has been prepared in conjunction with proposed flood mitigation works, ecological assessment and preliminary community consultation. The Draft Masterplan is now on public exhibition and submissions from residents are invited.

The Master Plan will provide a framework to revitalise the riparian corridor, integrate flood mitigation, and create a sustainable open space ecological network within the town centre of Cootamundra.

The study area contained in the Draft Masterplan is limited to a 2km length from Adams Street to Lloyd Conkey Avenue.

There are four distinct character precincts along the 2km length of Muttama Creek within the Draft Master

Plan.

  • Bradman Precinct
  • Sport and Recreation Precinct
  • Town Centre Precinct
  • Local Community Precinct

Recommendations, and recreational opportunities have been identified for each of the four precincts.

CGRC Mayor Abb McAlister said Councillors had looked over the Draft Masterplan for Muttama Creek at a Council workshop and recommended the plan be put on public exhibition and submissions sort.

“The Masterplan is a step forward for Council to seek external funding for improvements and undertaking controlled activities for riparian corridors on waterfront land. I urge all residents in Cootamundra to have a look over the Draft Masterplan and make a submission,” Cr McAlister said.

The Draft Masterplan for Muttama Creek can be found on the CGRC website at staging.cgrc.nsw.gov.au/muttama-creek-3 and staging.cgrc.nsw.gov.au/connect-with-us/have-your-say/documents-on-public-exhibition and submissions will be received until 5pm Friday 29 September 2025.
